Young Adult Program FAQs

What are the program hours?

School starts at 8:00 and we dismiss at 2:05.

Can my student graduate from high school and attend the Young Adult Program?

No. Once a student receives their high school diploma, special education services are terminated. Students can participate in their high school’s graduation ceremony but cannot receive their diploma if they plan to attend the Young Adult Program.

Will my student's district issued laptop follow them to the Young Adult Program?

Depends. Devices issued through the student’s IEP will follow them to the Young Adult Program. Students who elected to participate in the district’s one-to-one program will turn in their laptop at their high school. Then they will be issued a new laptop when they start at the Young Adult Program.

What does a typical week look like at YAP?

Most students at the Young Adult Program attend classes two days a week, participate in a vocational setting two days a week, and have a community outing one day a week. Student’s schedules are based on their IEP.
